Obituary for Betty Nelson

Betty Lou Nelson, 95, was surrounded by family and passed peacefully into Eternal Life on Friday, January 27, 2017. She is survived by the love of her life, Warren Nelson, her husband of 72 years.
Betty was born to Norman Wiley and Stella (Bowman) Wiley on December 16, 1921 in Tonganoxie, Kansas. Betty and Warren both met at and graduated from Kansas State University. They married on Christmas Eve, 1944.
Betty is survived by three of her four children: Barbara Goldman, Marcia Nelson Wilson (William) and Robert Nelson (Rev. Barbara Heck). David Nelson predeceased Betty when he was killed in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, leaving wife Elizabeth Crawford and two children. Betty and Warren have seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
We will celebrate Betty's life at Trinity Lutheran Church, 820 Lockett, Kirkwood on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Visitation at 9:30 a.m., funeral service at 10:30, a light luncheon follows the service. A private family burial is at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
