Obituary for Susan Sutton
Sutton, Susan “Suzie Wildlife”, passed away peacefully on June 30th, in her home, after a long illness. She is survived by sons Andy of StL, George (Kathy) of MN; a sister Molly (David) Avan of Miami; and 4 grandchildren, Erik, Connor, Sydney and Cassidy.
Suzie was the founder of Missouri Wildlife Rescue Center, at the time one of the largest of its kind in the US. She took her talents to help Crestwood manage an animal control effort until her retirement in 2011. She was often called “Mother Nature” in the local press.
She saved the lives of thousands of animals in her career. In her later years, she loved to garden from her house on Huckleberry Hill and loved to spend time with her friends and pets. In the past year of her health related struggles, her friends were invaluable with their unconditional love.
Services: A visitation will begin at Wed., July 5, 10 am with a memorial service to follow at 11 am at BOPP Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. In lieu of flowers or gifts donations may be made to Crestwood Animal Shelter or Stray Rescue.
