Obituary for Marsha Davis

Marsha Davis
Marsha Gail Davis, 67, of Richmond Heights, died Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Evelyn’s House Hospice in Creve Coeur, Missouri. She was born October 31, 1949, to John (deceased) and Jean Sears.

She married Jerry Wayne Davis on October 21, 1971, and together they raised four children, Michael (Rebekah) Davis of Dayton, Ohio, Nicholas Davis of Kansas City, Missouri, Benjamin (Rebecca) Davis of Creve Coeur, and Molly (Todd) Snyder of Clayton; as well as her 10 grandchildren, Rachel (Drew) Butler, Shannon Davis, Abigail Davis, Carolyn Davis, T.J. Davis, Brooke Davis, Reed Davis, Casey Davis, Keegan Snyder and Clara Snyder.

Besides her mother, Jean Sears of Ellisville, MO, she is also survived by her 6 siblings, Thomas Sears, Christine (Joseph) Williams, Karen Rocco, Cynthia Hollenbach, Robert (Sheron) Sears and Jill (Tom) O’Connell, and her many nieces and grand-nieces, nephews and grand-nephews.

Marsha grew up in Kirkwood, received her B.A. in Education from Southwest Missouri State University and was a long-time resident of Liberty, Missouri, where she raised her children, worked for many years at Ferrellgas, and actively served the community through the Liberty United Methodist Church on whose Board she served for several years. As a Stephens Minister there she gave special Christian care to many individuals going through hard times. She was also very active in PEO International and she remained active in her philanthropy through the local Chapter of PEO after moving back to the St. Louis area.

Marsha loved spending time with family, and it brought her great joy to share her knowledge and experience with the many children in her life. She also enjoyed walks in the woods, gardening, cooking, reading, music, laughing and playing board games. She was a leader, mentor and friend to many, and her good works will continue on through the lives of the many she touched.

The visitation is from 4:00p until 8:00p on Monday, August 28, at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. The funeral service will be at 11:30a on Tuesday, August 29, at Central Presbyterian Church, 7700 Davis Drive at Hanley Rd., Clayton, MO 63105, followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Forest Park Forever or Missouri Botanical Gardens.
