Obituary for Martin "Marty" Timlin Jr.

Martin "Marty" Timlin Jr.
Martin T. (Marty) Timlin, Jr., 64, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, November 4th, 2017 at his home in Kirkwood Missouri.
Marty was born February 16, 1953, in Youngstown, son of Martin Sr. and Elizabeth Crogan Timlin. He attended Ursuline and was a 1971 graduate of Chaney High School. Upon graduation, he worked at U.S. Steel Ohio Works Open Hearth, and then he attended Hiram College. Marty then went on to join the Air Force, stationed in Rhein-Main, Germany; Sunnyvale, California; and Denver, Colorado. He then moved back to Youngstown to help start Timlin Plumbing with his brothers. He left Youngstown to get back to the beautiful mountains of Colorado and then on to St. Louis to be with his son Tim and his family. In his retirement, Marty truly loved working for First Student as a bus driver in the Bayless School District.
Marty loved golf, good food, good friends, a good thunderstorm, sobriety, and trips back to Ohio to be with his siblings and their families. Above everything, he loved his son Tim and his family. His granddaughters were in his words, his "sunshine and moonshine".
Marty is survived by one son, Timothy Kilroy (Nicole) Timlin, granddaughters Bellina and Talulla, step granddaughter Olivia, all from Kirkwood, Missouri; siblings Thomas (Diana) Timlin of Glendale, Arizona, Kate Timlin-Weily (Bob) of Youngstown, Patrick (Karen) Timlin of Youngstown, Mike (Fran) Timlin of Poland, and Maureen (Vito) Donofrio of Youngstown, and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. Marty also leaves behind his best friends of 50 years, Larry and Cindy Minotti and their family. Marty was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Beth Timlin and Brigid Timlin and Tim's mother, Nancy York McMullin.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood, Missouri. The service will begin at 5:30p with visitation to follow until 7:00p.

On Saturday, November 11, 2017, Marty will be celebrated in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio at St. Christine. Calling hours will be 9:00-10:30a, followed by a memorial mass.
